What is Pure Freedom?

We invite school professionals to watch the video below to learn more about Pure Freedom:

What ages is the Pure Freedom Program for?

The Pure Freedom program has a curriculum for each grade 5th through 12th. While the topics covered are very similar, we ensure each three-day session is age-appropriate and the most relevant for the age group we are working with.

What topics does Pure Freedom cover?

We cover a number of topics including:

  • Discerning healthy from unhealthy relationships
  • Medically-accurate facts about sexually transmitted diseases and pregnancy
  • Setting healthy physical and digital boundaries in relationships
  • Focusing on future goals and dreams
  • Encouraging students that it’s possible to start over if mistakes have been made in the past

What requirements does the program meet?

The program uses the evidence-based Real Essentials curriculum from the Center for Relationship Education and incorporates the most up-to-date research on program topics.

The Pure Freedom program meets all of the Missouri Department of Elementary and Secondary Education’s requirements for sex education and sexual abuse prevention required by statute for Missouri schools to fulfill for all students. The program also aligns with the Missouri Health Grade Level Expectations, Comprehensive School Counseling Program Grade Level Expectations
and the Missouri Learning Standards National Health Education Standards.

How much does it cost?

Because of the support of our Lifeline donors, Pure Freedom is offered free of charge to middle and high schools in counties across Northeast Missouri.

How do I inform parents?

Yes! At Lifeline, we believe it is essential that parents understand and are comfortable with the information we are providing to their students. We offer a weekly informational parent Q&A webinar. You may find it on our website under the Parents tab. In addition, we provide you with opt out slips to hand out to the parents with more program information.

What professional development do you offer?

Pure Freedom also recognizes the importance of building a supportive community for youth. Pure Freedom educators are licensed facilitators for the Darkness to Light: Stewards of Children Sexual Abuse Prevention training. We offer workshops free of charge for parents, teachers, and community members in Northeast Missouri.
