Pure Freedom is a relationship, sexual abuse prevention, and sexual risk avoidance education program. The program takes the form of a three-day workshop offered to 5th through 12th grade audiences. The Sexual Risk Avoidance (SRA) educational model is a national movement to encourage teens to wait for sexual activity. It stands on the truth that delaying sex until marriage is best for all areas in life. Indeed, it provides men and women with the greatest chance at optimal health, successful relationships, and socioeconomic stability.
At its core, Pure Freedom teaches students the skills to live a happy and healthy life. In doing so, it helps them understand what real love is, how to form healthy and meaningful relationships, how to create boundaries that protect them and their peers, how to identify abuse, how the human body works, how STDs spread, and ultimately, how beyond-valuable they are.
We serve schools in Northeast Missouri across more than 20 counties in over 50 schools. Our offices are located in Kirksville, MO with educators travelling to each district to speak with students.
Pure Freedom’s educator team is made up of professionals with experience in a variety of fields. As certified Sexual Risk Avoidance Specialists through Ascend’s Sexual Risk Avoidance program, they are passionate about speaking the truth into the lives of students to not only help them better understand their bodies but also the implications of sexual activity in an age-appropriate way.
The Pure Freedom program uses the evidence-based Real Essentials curriculum from the Center for Relationship Education. We have received positive reviews from both students and teachers. In these reviews, they said that the messaging from Pure Freedom – including how to build healthy relationships, planning for the future, goal setting, STI information, and sexual risk avoidance – are all very necessary to our growing teens and young adults.
We offer Pure Freedom free of charge to middle and high schools in Northeast Missouri thanks to the generosity of our Lifeline donors. Offering this service at no cost ensures that thousands of teens continue to hear this life-changing message of hope. If you are interested in supporting these efforts, consider donating today.
